Annual Report

Lamoni Case Study Overview

Our goal is to get students, faculty/staff/administrators, community members, and alumni together to discuss topics pertinent to Lamoni's economic development. The following topics will be discussed in separate rooms:

· Job Creation/Industry/Manufacturing

· Real Estate

· Retail Business

· Marketing Lamoni

· Culture and Entertainment

· Wellness and Recreation

We expect groups to be anywhere from 15-40 people and they will be preassigned based on attendees indicated interest on the registration form.

There are three parts to this activity. The first is a 30 minute session, in which we would like a community member and/or Graceland employee and/or external expert to informally share about the current situation as it relates to their particular topic. Ideally one person would talk about the topic specific to Lamoni and someone else would talk about the topic from a broader regional/national/global perspective.

Then we'll break for lunch and a Breakout Session. We will then gather in the same case study groups from before lunch to have a structured dialogue/brainstorm, led by the people that shared about the current situation, to create a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. We’re striving to achieve a good balance of contribution from students and professionals alike. The final component of the Case study is that each topic group will share a 5 minute summary of their SWOT analysis with the all Roundtable attendees.
