Once A Month Cooking

OFF-CAMPUS STUDENTS: Click HERE to register for Once-A-Month Cooking events in November!

The American family is the backbone of our country. Yet rising food prices are making it more difficult for families to stay afloat. Many households struggle to find the time, energy, and money to provide nutritional meals for their families. We believe our Once a Month Cooking project gives families the tools to overcome these challenges.

Once a Month Cooking is a program that strives to teach parents in our community how to prepare meals for a week or month in a single setting. The five families that joined OAMC have sustained this effort on their own after our team coordinated the first two meetings. They have now cooked together five times in the last six months and have come away with inexpensive and nutritional meals, a sense of community from working with other parents, and most importantly, a sense of empowerment.

We are proud to have made an impact in our own small town but are now looking for ways to expand this valuable project into other nearby communities. This is a unique opportunity to help families in Iowa and beyond.
